"EPSILON can simply be relied on"

With these words the Manager of the Weil forestry company, Claus Weil, underlines the decision for what is now his fifth EPSILON crane. "We have been EPSILON offroad customers from the very beginning. Already in 2006, the year in which EPSILON first introduced offroad cranes on the market, we purchased the skidding crane E83R73 from the Salzburg-based manufacturer. The main reason for the decision was already then the fully internal hoses in the main boom and outer boom. It is a groundbreaking innovation that impressed me right away and that continues to pay off. Since then I have never again had problems with burst hoses and have not yet had to replace a hose before the recommended service interval."

Weil – Welte – EPSILON – a combination with tradition

The collaboration between the forestry machine specialist Welte and the company Weil has also become a tradition. In 2003, the company Weil purchased its first Welte 6-cylinder 4-wheel machine with the W180, back then through Mr Weil Senior. At the time still without EPSILON crane, since the product development was not yet complete. The offroad product launch then followed in 2006 and, as usual for EPSILON, was accompanied by a wealth of pioneering new developments. In addition to the internal hoses, patented 4-eye controlled EPSLINK and the EPSCOPE double-telescope system were highlights for the entire industry. The advantages of the also-patented E+P endless rotator system in the harvester area remain unparalleled to this day.

The new purchase: Welte Skidder W230 with EPSILON X150R90

"In addition to its innovations and high standard of quality, EPSILON sets itself apart in particular because of its will to attend to individual customer requirements in great detail," says Mr Weil Senior. "As a partner and intensive user for many years, we are therefore often encouraged to contribute our experiences, as well as our wishes and suggestions from practice to new developments." For their latest investment, the Welte Skidder W230, the Weil family has therefore once again opted for an EPSILON crane. This time they chose the X150R80, one of EPSILON's strongest skidding cranes. "We just need a strong and very fast crane that can always be relied on. The machine has enough power not only for daily use: if, in the heat of the moment, I were to venture too far down a slope, the crane also has the necessary power to pull the entire machine back on track – even if the manufacturer doesn't like to hear it," adds Claus Weil with a smirk.

About the Weil forestry company

In addition to the joy and courage to innovate, reliability is also of great importance at Weil. It is not by coincidence that the Weils are already in their third generation of forest managers. The grandfather already began with tree removal and passed on his knowledge and experience, first to his son Helmut Weil and then to his grandson Claus Weil. The latter has now already run the family operations in Weilmünster to Frankfurt am Main since 1993. Links:
