EPSILON hands over 30,000th crane to Texan installation partner
On 20 July, the 30,000th crane left the EPSILON workshop in Elsbethen.
Since the location was opened 16 years ago, it has produced an average of 2,000 cranes a year, supplying customers all over the world from Austria. Production capacity was greatly improved further still by the completion of the state-of-the-art innovation centre complete with new assembly hall in 2015.
The latest crane generation, the Next EPSOLUTION series, which has also been on the market for just under a year, was especially well received by customers in Europe.
Handover ceremony to Texan installation partner
However, the 30,000th crane is not destined for the European market. This is the first crane in the optimised US crane series A-Line 2.0. This crane series was developed exclusively for the North American market to better meet the local needs of customers. Now, almost one year after the first cranes were delivered to US customers, the series has been modified further to cater to the latest customer requirements and some of its features have been refined. This was based on feedback from the first long-term customers.
As well as Tom Zwickle, sales manager for EPSILON cranes at PALFINGER North America, a number of reputable US customers were also invited to the handover ceremony. This meant that a representative of the EPSILON management also got to hand over the 30,000th crane in person to the recipient Larry Davis, Managing Director of the US sales partner Heil of Texas.
The company, which was founded in 2001, has been one of EPSILON’s most important sales partners in the Texas region since 2012. As part of Heil’s ongoing commitment to EPSILON and the Refuse Industry, the Texan family-run company lately developed an optimised complete solution for US bulk material transportation.
The demonstrator features an EPSILON M13A80 mounted on a Freightliner 108SD chassis featuring a 20,000-lb front axle and 46,000-lb rear axle.
Further on, the truck is equipped with very strong and reliable Beau Roc body which is 22’ feet long and holds over 40 cubic yards! A Bakker RBOX120 refuse grapple (48” wide) will complete the unit providing Heil of Texas and the refuse market of Texas and New Mexico a very strong, fast, and reliable solution.
Proud of EPSILON’s 16-year history in Elsbethen
At the handover ceremony, the EPSILON management team and the entire workforce could look back with immense pride at a successful past and look forward with enthusiasm to the future. “Looking back, it is now clear that we made the right decision with the strategic alignment of the company towards developing the most technically innovative solutions while focusing on internationalisation. As part of this strategy, we are taking the time to gain an optimum understanding of the customer requirements in each market and, as we did with the A-Line, also develop market-specific innovations where required,” explained Hannes Steindl (MD Development).
