Happy Birthday - 75 years VELMASH
On October 14, 1944, a plant was established in Velikiye Luki (Pskov Region), the main task of which was to help residents restore the city destroyed by the war. The history of “VELMASH” is the work of factory stuff invested in machinery that today honestly serves to loggers and scrappers, municipalities and energy companies, EMERCOM employees in their daily affairs.
75 years is the next stage in the development of the production and intellectual potential of VELMASH, where people are always a priority: ones who works on the equipment produced at the plant, and ones who goes through the doors of the factory entrance to the workplace every day.
“We have come a long, difficult but successful path. And we have something to be proud of! We have become the first on the market many times: in the 50s our peat extraction equipment was called “unique”, in the 60s we began to produce forestry equipment that was exclusive for that time, in the 90s - hydraulic manipulators. In the new millennium we developed equipment for the Ministry of Emergencies and the military, which has no domestic equivalents, and the last 5 years have been marked by new-generation hydraulic manipulators and hoolifts. We always set ourselves high standards and boldly went forward, enjoying what we were doing. And time has shown that by complicating tasks and overcoming difficulties, we not only gained experience, but also expanded our capabilities and increased our presence in the market of lifting solutions. I am sure that we still have a lot of victories ahead! ”- Sergey Sergienkov, General Director of VELMASH noted in his congratulations to the team.

The anniversary celebration began continued until late in the evening and although the seventy-fifth birthday of the enterprise fell on a weekday, the main square of the city was fully filled. A fascinating interactive program, a quiz, prizes and souvenirs from VELMASH, drum shows, dance and vocal groups from St. Petersburg, a grandiose fire show, flag show, fireworks - all for a festive mood and positive emotions. Sponsored by PALFINGER the winner of the Silk Way 2019 rally, Anton Shibalov, came to join the congratulation. By the lucky coincidence he is also a native of Velikiye Luki. A photo zone was organized next to the stage, where it was possible to take unforgettable photos next to the KAMAZ-Master team car - the sixteen-time winner of the Dakar super marathon, the seven-time winner of the Silk Way international rally, the undisputed leader of the Russian Championships. The evening ended with a performance by a famous Russian singer Denis Klyaver.
