EPSILON on Christmas Tree Mission for Londons’ Big Ben
One of the most photographed Christmas trees worldwide has been put up at Londons’ Houses of Parliament, at the base of Big Ben.
R&H Scott carry Christmas Tree Kielder Forest
or the past 14 years this up to 40 feet (12 meters) high Christmas tree has been provided by the Kielder Water and Forest Park in northeastern Northumberland. In this spectacular transport the EPSILON timber crane fleet of R & H Scott, a family owned timber haulage company from Stonehaugh, plays a central role as they were honoured with the transport request once again. From the depths of Kielder Forest the tree was first moved by helicopter up to a passable road. From there R & H Scott took over by using a strong EPSILON M120L crane to carefully load the giant tree onto the truck. Subsequently, the tree went for a 350-mile journey from Northumberland to London.
Delicate placement in Houses of Parliements’ yard
Once there, the delicate placement in one of the most prestigious yards of London takes place. Up to 20 people are involved when it comes to decorate and stage up one of the most popular photo spots of London at Christmas time. Therefore the tree has to be lifted with extreme care to avoid any damage to the precarious destination. Once again a situation where the agility of EPSILON cranes stands out, as with this crane allows the tree to be lifted gently and without fear of causing damage to the surroundings
