Weight is playing an increasingly important role in the world of professional timber handling. Commercial pressure on wood hauliers is growing, while maximum load capacities are becoming ever stricter.
In keeping with the corporate objective of 'helping customers to achieve even greater success in their work', PALFINGER EPSILON aims to make a significant contribution on behalf of its customers, particularly on the subject of weight.
The use of high-strength steel combined with state-of-the-art, computer-aided simulation methods (3D and finite element analysis) has made it possible to reduce the unladen weight of the Q-Series and S-Series cranes while making key technical improvements at the same time.
Since almost 80% of the steel components are produced in-house, it can always be guaranteed that the material is delivered only where it is actually needed. That applies to every single millimetre of every single component, all of the highest quality.
The fastest crane in its class
The crane speed of the Q-Series has also been improved significantly. Cranes in the higher lifting classes from 14 tonne metres upwards are usually much slower than smaller models.
Not so with the new Q-Series from EPSILON!
Thanks to increased pressure and smaller cylinder diameters, it achieves a similar crane speed to the current M-Series.
This means that customers can access maximum speed even at higher lifting capacities.
Up to eleven metres – the longest reach in its class
The new design of the double telescopic system for Q-Series Z-cranes enables up to 1,400 mm greater reach than the previous model. This means a total reach of an incredible 11 m.
The synchronous principle of the telescopic system ensures exceptionally high and constant extension speeds.

Master Drive
With the new top seat from PALFINGER EPSILON, the benchmark for comfort and user-friendliness has been taken to a new level.
The Master Drive not only gives the operator full control in every application, but also enables very careful handling thanks to its sophisticated design and top-class technology. The ergonomic design of the mechanically suspended top seat makes the seat extremely comfortable, while the multi-function armrest puts all commands at your fingertips.
The Master Drive with EPSHOOD is available as an option.
Operator protection made from engineered thermoplastic allows for protected handling in all weather conditions.
Internal hose guide
The extended internal hose guide (crane column, main boom, knuckle boom) enables simple handling for the operator.
This innovation dramatically reduces the risk of hose damage and also lowers wear costs. If, despite this, problems still occur, smartly positioned service openings along the entire crane allow for easy access.
