EPSILON – expert partner in stationary (recycling) deployment
When it comes to manipulating recycling materials, it is mainly cost-effectiveness in continuous operation as well as high working speeds during scrap manipulation that count. Sianfer, one of the largest recycling companies for rust-free steel in Brazil, therefore opted for pressure-reduced stationary cranes from the EPSILON series a long time ago.
“The main defining features of EPSILON cranes are their robust workmanship and the resulting low maintenance requirements. We also value the outstanding crane geometry and the large ranges in conjunction with high lifting capacities throughout all the stationary EPSILON models,” says the Managing Director of the Sianfer Group. The EPSCAB cabin is a further highlight, particularly in the subtropical climate of São Paulo. “The EPSCAB cabin offers our drivers optimum protection during short but heavy rainfall. The air-conditioning system ensures that our employees keep a cool head, even on the hottest days.”
Sianfer currently has two EPSILON cranes in stationary deployment in São Paulo. Here, the pressure-reduced EPSILON Q130LD is used to continuously fill the compactor. The outstanding precision control ability of the grab enables the material to be sorted quickly and precisely and then conveyed to exactly the correct location in the compactor. Thanks to the large action radius, the operator can work from the same position for a much longer time without external intervention.
By contrast, the S260L is used to fill 40” containers with uncompacted scrap parts. To fill these as densely as possible even without a compactor, the containers are first tilted approximately 45° and then filled from above. The unique arm geometry of the EPSILON cranes is noticeable here. The steel parts can thus be raised to large heights at an almost constant working speed, which means the containers can be filled more quickly.
“Drawing on our experience in the past, we definitely made the right decision in choosing EPSILON cranes,” says the Sianfer workforce unanimously. “The investments will quickly pay for themselves on the basis of the performance we have observed and our drivers are already benefiting from the improved working conditions.”
