We at PALFINGER EPSILON are pleased to announce the successful sale and installation of four stationary cranes at one of the most modern sawmills in South America. The cranes, consisting of three Q130LD80 and one S210LD128, were installed in the province of Corrientes, Argentina, at the sawmill of ACON Timber, a company of the Austrian HS Timber Group.

This state-of-the-art factory is a key project for Argentina's economic boost and sets new standards in timber processing in South America. ACON Timber has commissioned the first high-tech X-ray machine for timber sorting on the continent, underlining the innovative power of this multi-million euro project.
PALFINGER EPSILON cranes were chosen without hesitation due to their reliability and precision.

All four cranes are operated via radio remote control from a modern control room with a direct view of the plant. The larger S210LD128 was deliberately chosen to cover a larger working area and ensure maximum reach, while the Q130LD80 models are strategically positioned to support the feeding beld and clear blockages.
The S210LD features one of the longest reaches of any EPSILON crane, at an impressive 12.8 meters. This outstanding reach was the deciding factor for its strategic positioning in a wide area of the sawmill in Argentina to ensure maximum coverage. The “D” models, such as the S210LD, have a special hydraulic design optimized for continuous and demanding use. This robust design makes them ideal for cranes operating over 1,000 hours per year, ensuring extended service life and reliability in tough operations.

Although the sawmill has only recently been commissioned, the cranes have already been used successfully on several occasions. According to the operators and the plant manager, operations are running smoothly and the cranes are performing their tasks exactly as planned, which has resulted in complete satisfaction for everyone involved.

Special thanks go to our Argentinian partner Hidro-Grubert, who played a key role in the successful implementation of this project. Thanks to their commitment and expertise, we were able to ensure that our cranes were perfectly matched to the needs of the sawmill.
